Abilitare Compiz per la scheda grafica Intel GM965/GL960 in Gutsy

Verifica compatibilità

Se si possiede la scheda Video: 

lspci
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0c)

Compiz non viene attivato.

Verificare perchè: 

compiz --replace ccp
Checking for Xgl: not present.

Vedere se va forzandolo: 

SKIP_CHECKS=yes compiz --replace ccp

Forzatura avvio compiz

Se questo funziona, è possibile procedere in due modi:

Disabilitazione test schede

Aggiungere la riga 

SKIP_CHECKS=yes

in: 

/etc/xdg/compiz/compiz-manager

Patch dello script di lancio

Modificare lo script di avvio di compiz rimuovendo la stringa 8086:2a02 dalla riga 

sudoedit /usr/bin/compiz

...
T="$T 8086:2982 8086:2992 8086:29a2 8086:2a12"  # intel 965
#T="$T 8086:2982 8086:2992 8086:29a2 8086:2a02 8086:2a12"  # intel 965
...

Ora compiz si può abilitare dalle Preferenze.

ATTENZIONE: AD OGNI AGGIORNAMENTO DI COMPIZ BISOGNERA' RIPETERE L'OPERAZIONE.

Visualizzazione dei Video

Per poter anche visualizzare dei Filmati bisogna anche cambiare le preferenze di gstreamer: lanciare 

gstreamer-properties

go to the Video tab and select “X Window System (Senza Xv)” come Uscita predefintia/Plugin
