Il backup di ArcServe 12.5SP1 fallisce con un errore AE0436 Failed to create system state shadow copy

Se si guarda nell'event Log di Win2003, si trova anche:

Event ID 513 — Shadow Copy System Writer Functionality
Cryptographic Services failed while processing the OnIdentity() call in the System Writer Object.%1.

• Verificare che il servizio vss sia attivo

net stop vss
net start vss

• Veriricare che il "System Writer" VSS sia attivo con:

vssadmin list writers

...
Writer name: 'System Writer'
   Writer Id: {e8132975-6f93-4464-a53e-1050253ae220}
   Writer Instance Id: {50fccb92-5105-4feb-a20e-1c5e4fcfad41}
   State: [1] Stable
   Last error: No error
...

• Se non c'è, provare a impostare questi diritti:

icacls %windir%\winsxs\filemaps\*.* /grant "NT Service\trustedinstaller:(F)"

• Se non li applica, prendere possesso dei files e riapplicarli:

takeown /f %windir%\winsxs\filemaps\* /a
icacls %windir%\winsxs\filemaps\*.* /grant "NT Service\trustedinstaller:(F)"

• Stoppare, riavviare VSS e listare i writers:

net stop vss
net start vss
vssadmin list writers

A questo punto nell'event log nonc i deve più essetre l'errore, che accadrebbe ad ogni list writers.
